Elektrosil developed a new fastening system that helped the customer to work more flexibly while saving assembly time and costs.
THE CHALLENGE
For cooling several output stage transistors of an endoscope generator, the customer needed a new fastening technology. This technology would allow flexible attachment of the components that require cooling to the heat sink while saving assembly time and costs.

THE SOLUTION
Typically, components are rigidly fixed to the heat sink using screws, ensuring optimal cooling and maximum retention. However, this method is time-consuming to install and requires a perfect fit between the heat sink and the component, limiting flexibility in positioning and variation.
The customer requested a solution that would allow more flexible attachment of components to the heat sink.
After evaluating various alternatives, Elektrosil developed a solution where components, that require cooling, could be securely but flexibly fixed using rails and clamps.
The robust material of the clamps allowed the components to be installed quickly and easily without screws, significantly reducing assembly time.This solution also provided flexibility in the height of the components to be cooled.
The result: a modular fastening system that enables quick and easy installation, flexibility, time and cost savings.
